19 LPTC Student-Athletes Earn Academic All-Region

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference announced the Academic All-Region performers for the Fall of 2017. Totallying 747 student-athletes from 79 teams, student-athletes from basketball, cross country, football, soccer, volleyball, and wrestling achieved recoginition for their work in the classroom. First Team performers received a 3.5 GPA or above, while Second Team members earned between at 3.0 and a 3.49 GPA.

Of the sports, men's soccer players finished with the most total Academic All-Region performers, 128. Volleyball was in close second with 125, including a league-high 74 First-Team honorees. 

The top three schools with the most student-athletes achieving All-Region status were Iowa Western (126), Iowa Central (124), and Indian Hills (73).
